References, footnotes and endnotes

(GOST 7.1, GOST 7.82, GOST 7.80, GOST 7.05–2008)

The reference list has to appear at the end of the article in the following order:

  1. Works in Russian alphabetically (works of the same author are placed chronologically);
  2. Works in foreign languages (if an item starts with an article, it is included in the alphabetical list using the first word of the article).
  3. Published works and electronic resources in a single list without placing the latter at the end of the reference list.

In an author-date style, in-text citations require the name of the author(s) and the year of publication. A page number is included if you have a direct quote, paraphrase a passage or you want to direct the reader to a specific page. Page numbers may also be included if you are referring to a long work and the page numbers might be useful to the reader. The elements of the citation are separated by commas.
